Project Overview:

English Academy AI is an innovative project that aims to revolutionize the way teachers assess and monitor the progress of their students. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as automated speech recognition and natural language processing, this system aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of student evaluation, ultimately providing a more personalized learning experience.

Project Objectives:

  1. Develop a marking dashboard and performance analytic system for teachers to assess their students. This dashboard will provide real-time insights into students’ progress, enabling teachers to make data-driven decisions and tailor their teaching methods to suit individual needs.
  2. Develop an AI model to automatically assess students’ pronunciation and grammar in writing. This model will help teachers save time and effort in evaluating student performance, allowing them to focus more on providing personalized feedback and support.

Techniques and Technologies Used:

  1. Automated Speech Recognition (ASR): ASR technology is employed to evaluate students’ pronunciation, analyzing their spoken language and providing instant feedback on areas that require improvement.
  2. Natural Language Processing (NLP): NLP techniques are used to assess students’ writing skills, identifying grammar and syntax errors, and suggesting ways to enhance their written communication.
  3. React.js: The front-end development of the marking dashboard and performance analytics system is built using the React.js framework, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience for teachers.
  4. FastAPI and Django: The backend development of the system is powered by FastAPI and Django, two popular Python web frameworks known for their robustness, scalability, and ease of use.
  5. MongoDB: A NoSQL database, MongoDB is utilized for storing and managing the system’s data, ensuring high performance, flexibility, and scalability as the number of students and assessments grows.
  6. OCR: Using AI to read assessment report scan from teacher and auto input result to the database

Project Impact:

The English Academy AI project has the potential to transform the landscape of language education by empowering teachers with advanced tools for assessing and monitoring student performance. By automating the evaluation process and providing real-time analytics, teachers can dedicate more time to addressing individual student needs, resulting in more effective teaching and improved learning outcome
